When most young kids were out getting sugar rushes from local sweet shops and hanging on street corners, Jason Taylor, aided by an older cousin, kick-started his musical path in record stores. Purchasing – with his subsequent sweet money – the records that would help define part of his musical career. In the early 90’s, as much an era that fashion forgot, it definitely wasn’t an era which music forgot. Inspired by Hardcore, Jungle/DnB, Rave, Hip Hop, Garage and House music, Jason accumulated an incredible vinyl collection for someone so young. Not before long he became hooked on seeking out ‘good’ music [as opposed to sticking to one particular genre], paradoxically his fondness for House music, from the soulful grooves of Masters At Work, to the timeless electronic piano stabs of an Inner City track, to the Techno material from leading pioneers like Richie Hawtin, Robert Hood, Carl Craig, to more recent artists from the likes of Dubfire, Steve Lawler and Sebastien Leger, having a huge influence to Jason’s productions. The aforementioned put Jason on a particular path which has resulted in the below. Jason hosted his own show on global radio [UNKNOWN FM]. He has shown versatility by playing his beloved House music at clubs across the UK and Europe, including PLUS CLUB [Greece], CLUB MECCA [Czech Republic], PLAN B, BUNGALOW 8, LIGHTBOX, SHOREDITCH HOUSE, THE DEN/CENTRO, PACHA [London], EGG, KOKO and MINISTRY OF SOUND [London]. After years of traveling and djing, Jason felt it was a natural progression to get into the studio, to put some much warranted ideas into action. He has concocted, much like an alchemist in a laboratory, several huge dance floor anthems. His debut tune ‘Apache’ was quickly snapped up and signed to House legend MATTEO DIMARR’s imprint MAR 186 and has featured on MARK KNIGHT’s Toolroom Knights radio show. His next task wasn’t easy, how do you follow up such a debut and feat like ‘Apache’? The answer is to make something even more sonically pleasing yet challenging – the result; the ‘Cobra EP’ [MAR 186] which was licensed and now features on DIRTY DUTCH OUTSIDERS ALBUM mixed by CHUCKIE, then ‘My Space Remix’ [GROUND FACTORY RECORDS], ‘Taipei Pocok Salata Remix’ [BAROQUE RECORDS], ‘Keep The Fire Burning’ with DJ LEWI [FUNKINYOU RECORDS] and the electro-funk filled ‘Sabotage’ [BLU MUSIC] which was promptly signed to Canadian superstar SYDNEY BLU’s label, and is being played by DJ’s around the world. Jason’s take on main room tribal house track resulted in ‘Burning Kisses’ [NOD FACTOR] which has been causing a storm and gained support from ROGER SANCHEZ, OSCAR G and STAFFORD BROTHERS. The above has led to much deserved, and in short – fantastic support from highly revered and established names such as; UMEK, PAUL THOMAS, KIM FAI, CHUCKIE, ANT BROOKS, GROOVE ARMADA, MC FLIPSIDE, SYDNEY BLU, POPOF, SONNY WHARTON, FLUTUANCE, DUBFIRE, CARL COX, PAUL VAN DYK, ROGER SANCHEZ, FUNKAGENDA & MARK KNIGHT. Now co running a record label with fellow production partners THREESIXTY [TOOLROOM RECORS] & DIRTY HARRIS [BIG LOVE] called MAQUINA MUSIC, which is already causing a storm. What next for Jason Taylor? Well I can tell you this much – whatever it is, it will consist of more futuristic, forward thinking productions, collaborating with exciting artists new and established, whilst pushing his talent to a whole new level. "One of the hottest new young producers I happened to stumble upon! His attention to detail & rock solid production is a breath of fresh air. It's frightening that he is this good already...can't wait to hear what he sounds like in a few years!" – MATTEO DIMARR ''What Jason is bringing to the scene with his productions right now is immense... Nothing short of guaranteed dancefloor rockers every time!! I can't recommend this guy enough - definitely a name to watch out for this year.'' - SONNY WHARTON "Jason Taylor is a name to lookout for! He is able to conjure up soundscapes that can blend house, electro elements and full on tech with ease. This ability will help make his productions a favorite for dj's worldwide." – MC FLIPSIDE "Jason is one of my favorite new producers right now. His work on Sabotage was amazing and I pretty much play everything he puts out at this point. I see him having an amazing future in dance music" - SYDNEY BLU
