- Born in Spain, a young artist influenced by Detroit and Birmingham sound. His sets are full of dark and industrial rythms surrounded by heavy sounds and penetrating strong environments. Now working in his own label Substance Records. For the fisrt ref..JLG is a Spanish DJ and producer born in the early 80's in Leon. Having grown up in a southern district of Madrid has helped him to contact many clubs and music stores in the capital at an early age and also to know for the first time that his favourite genre came from Detroit and the UK; more specifically, Birmingham. During these years he has collected a wide quantity of vinyl, emphasizing his admiration for names like Hood, Mills, Surgeon, Ruskin, Regis, Joey Beltram, Luke Slater, AFX and Drexciya. In 2005 he moved to Galicia where he got in touch with several groups of DJs and agencies, and started to be included in the lineup of clubs like Octopus, Beta, Nucleo and Salitre. This change allowed for his appearance in different clubs in the north of Spain, including, amongst others, El Jardín in Asturias and Colors in Salamanca After many years of hard work, in 2008 he released the first reference of Substance Records label owned by himself under the aka JLG. This release included a remix by Exium and was charted by people like Óscar Mulero and played by Dave Clarke in his White Noise radioshow
