- JIJU is the DJ-duo Jiska Huizing & Julie Silset. They have just released their first remix together on Ideophone Records, in March 2021.Julie Silset is a Bergen based DJ and musician. A deep interest in techno forms the basis for her mixing, where she can move both to a more meditative atmosphere or straight into braided bangers. In March 2021 Silset will be ready with her first release made in collaboration with Jiska Huizing and their duo project JIJU on IDE003, Ideophone Records. Silset is also a member of the DOT collective, who cultivates their own techno community in Bergen by hosting regularly club-events that aim to push the boundaries and to set new thought for what a club-and music experience can be like by a strong thought of interwinding music, art and audience all together, new expressions will emerge. Jiska Huizing is a Dutch artist, musician and DJ living and working in Oslo. Sound plays an important part in her different practices, with a specific interest in field recordings and place. Her approach to creating music and DJ-ing is heavily shaped by ideas about sound that come from her artistic practice. Huizing’s DJ-sets combine a broad spectrum of genres, in which obscure club music, leftfield techno and polyrhythms always are important. She likes to make surprising connections that invite you to open up your ears and your feet to move. Together with Julie Silset, Huizing forms the duo JIJU, who DJ together and just released their first remix, which appears on ‘IDE003’.
