Originating from the North-East of England & now living in Berlin having recently relocated after 10 years in Manchester working as a Sound-engineer and te..Dan is one half of Juniper and one-fifth of the meandyou collective since its inception in 2008. Originating from the North-East of England & now living in Berlin having recently relocated after 10 years in Manchester working as a Sound-engineer and teacher. Demonstrating the use of studio hardware and software to classrooms of students was the perfect environment for Dan to hone his production skills. Over the years carefully acquiring a vast collection of Drum Machines, Synthesizers, Guitar pedals and other obscure dusty boxes alongside his long-term studio partner Reuben led to many nocturnal Salford jam sessions in the studio. From this exploration of sound the Juniper project was born and not long after the pair were welcomed into the Underground Quality family with their ‘Theories EP’. In 2012, a split EP with Arnaldo on Hamburg’s Smallville Records followed as well as the hit, ‘Jovian Planet’ on the debut release of Kassem Mosse’s brilliant Ominira label. ‘They Came to Find Us’ arrived in 2013 on the first release from the meandyou collective, a split EP alongside label comrades Herron & Sul and friend Kassem Mosse. DJ’ing under the Juniper pseudonym, Dan is versatile, whether at 4am in the Robert Johnson or early doors on residency duties at their spiritual meandyou home, the Soup Kitchen.
