- There are multiple ways to express affection, but until now we hardly managed to come up with one that is more personal and universal than music.It conveys feelings and ideas in a language so unique and efficient that allows for one of the deepest forms of communication between people who could barely share the same space, let alone the same dancefloor. And this is the principle that moves every aspect Conrad Christ's relationship with it , be it playing, creating or yielding moments of musical delight for everyone. Travelling within a sonic horizon as vast as his interests and appetites, whenever he is handling the turntables, he personifies a sort of guide that takes us fearlessly across the intricacies of his discoveries. That's how he not only invites us to a dense process of revelation and fruition through some rhythmic opulence that ranges from minimalist concepts and rich textures in its execution to the arcanes of House and details of Techno in its origins, but letting us into it by means of our deepest feelings and desires. His sets are aural excursions in which familiarity and surprise take turns through the most sincere dialogue between a selector and his audience. One of those where his influences and our expectations merge to create the kind of connection we mentioned above: turning occasions such as his performance at Maeve’s São Paulo Showcase, Smallville Records’ Rio and São Paulo parties and his decade long residency at D-Edge’s Mothership saturdays - the club’s most conceptual nights - as well as his own project C1RCU5, in moments of complicity and liberty that became a fixture into the collective memory in many ways, yet always indelibly. Naturally, these very fundamentals that guide his adventures in the booth follow him into his studio journeys and gain a resonance that energises each of his productions, as part of the project Tourists In Earth, of which “Flower of Purple” is a beautiful example of his creative potential, or in his individual efforts, such as “Dub Waterfall” that figured among celebrated Brasilian compilation Fazedores de Som. And this is how they transmute into the elements that turn ouvres such as "Reflexão Ondas" and "Late Blooming" into rhythmic- melodic compounds that employ an extreme dancing plasticity while carrying intense listening beauty. After all, what else could we expect from an artist so devoted to his craft besides creating? And Conrad Christ is always willing to do whatever it takes for his creations to find their destination in each of us, stimulating sensations, evoking emotions or simply enticing the perfect situations for it to happen.̸.
