  • For almost 15 years, South African-born artist Kyle Watson has been working hard to carve a space out of the global house scene for his own brand of house music.
Drawing inspiration from multiple avenues has helped sculpt his sound into a unique style of forward-thinking house music that blends ear-tickling sound design with captivating basslines and chunky drums, melting together to form pieces of music that work just as well at home as they do in a club. Through 2015 and 2016 Kyle’s early records such as ‘Watermelons’, ‘Moments’ and ‘Don’t Talk’ began to prick the ears up of listeners across the United States and South America, kicking off a trajectory that broke him out of his local scene in South Africa and planted him firmly in the global spotlight. That journey has resulted in releases on prominent labels such as Higher Ground, Realm and Solotoko with more recent tracks such as ‘I Got You’, ‘Sides’ and ‘Magic Carpet’ enjoying widespread success. Kyle is also a co-owner of the indie label Box Of Cats, which regularly features on charts with diverse bass-focused house releases. Industry nods from heavyweights like Diplo, Chris Lake and Gorgon City have given Kyle the opportunity to take his music across the world, from 15 000-strong crowds in South America to sell-out headline shows in the USA, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. With an ever-refreshing release schedule and calling the United Kingdom his new home, Kyles upward trajectory shows no signs of slowing down.
