- Jersey born, Miami-based artist, making noise in the scene.After twenty plus years of setting his lifelong dream on hold in order to raise a family and make financial ends meet, LEYVA decided it was time to pursue his true desire, setting dancefloors on fire. For the past 6 years he has been relentless in doing so. Managing a day job, a family, music production and performance preparation has made it difficult for him to find time to rest, but he has zero regrets. Consumed with real life and it’s pressures, his performances tend to be his therapy, as well as that of his audience. Born and raised in New Jersey to young parents who exposed him to their eclectic collection of vinyl that ranged from funk, jazz, disco, rock n’ roll, latin and soul, it’s suffice to say that his musical influences run deep. Today, this inspiration translates into his sets and his production. His track selections span the musical spectrum with influences of his adolescence, all on the foundation of that 4 over 4 beat with a kick, hi-hat and snare. Never hesitant to push boundaries, he’ll drop a disco, deep-house, tech-house, techno or a classics set if you wanted him to. Needless to say, he has a true embrace of the dance-music culture and absolutely loves to show it. Today, Leyva has played nearly all of the major dance music venues in his native city of Miami, Florida. He’s shared stages and smiles with international headliners. “Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think I’d play the BPM Festival and Groove Cruise, or have Roger Sanchez as my mentor. At least not this soon. I’m living a dream. I can honestly say that I don’t do this for the money. I do this because I love music. I love to entertain. Whether there is one person in the crowd or 10,000, they’ll always get the best I have to give.” Humility, loyalty and selflessness have garnered him a wonderful reputation amongst his peers. Understanding that he wouldn’t be where he is, if not for the selfless acts of others, he prides himself in doing the same. He currently holds a residency with UNDR the RADR and with Humans Alike at The Wynwood Factory in Miami and has also become a frequent act at Treehouse and Do Not Sit. His production has taken off with releases on HOTL Records, Exit 32 Recordings, XIMA Records, Fervence Records, Taking Ground, Dark Shades and Brashbeats (UK).
