- Dj. Music Producer“I play music that lifts your soul. Be it chill out sets or melodic techno. It’s carefully weaved to take you from where you are familiar to new, uncharted musical territory. This is my job. Not to give you everything you already know and have heard before, but you take you to knew worlds, on a sweeping subtle journey that when you close your eyes you are flying on melodies and when you open them you are grounded by a dirty fat bass line and surrounded by smiling, happy faces.” LuLiLu aka Louise Yellowlees describes her work and passion. Having grown up on an eclectic combination of funk & soul, Psychedelic rock, Synth-infused 80s music (Depeche Mode, The Cure,) Her teens were spent in warehouses, disused buildings and on muddy fields dancing to acid house, trance and techno. And her 20’s as a sound engineer, recording world beats onto the warmth of a 24 track tape machine, her home, a pillow under the mixing desk. Armed with a finely tuned ear for good sound, an eclectic musical history and more than 20 years as a DJ are infused to create her own cheeky & emotive style of playing & performing to a crowd. Her choice of tracks evoke emotion, ethereal melodies, funky baselines with the occasional vocal hook of a something old and familiar. She brings these together, in whatever occasion she is called on to perform, a six hour chill out set on exotic beaches or a dark and dusty dance floor of the infamous ibiza cave parties. “For me it’s about the blending together and inclusion of everything: You just have to have a great sound, your very best tracks and the dance floor becomes a sanctuary, a melting pot of sweaty people, of all races, sexual orientations, creeds and loving embraces, all dancing together as one. This is what I love the most.” 2018 will see new track releases on a new record label.
