  • Lynne is a Japanese artist who explores the outer realms of techno, experimental and Drum 'n' Bass. Her ever-evolving sound builds immersive atmospheres that are a journey of rhythmic expression.
For Lynne, her dancefloor epiphany came raving to drum & bass for the first time in Tokyo. Its syncopated rhythms, heavy basslines, and infectious grooves sparked an obsession and inspired a move to its birthplace - London. Lynne explored the UK's vibrant scene, absorbing everything she heard from jungle to dubstep until she laid down her first mix and began her own artistic journey. When she returned to Japan a year later, Lynne became a fixture in Tokyo's underground, honing her craft alongside artists like ENA and Goth-Trad. Over time her sound evolved from its DnB roots to include more textural, obscure, and experimental layers as she became fascinated with building emotive atmospheres and twisting them to her rhythm. Her distinctive style led her to win the Samurai Music Mix competition and play at the label's opening night in London. From there, she tore up dancefloors like Contact, Unit, and Vurt, grabbing the attention of artists like DJ Nobu along the way. She has crafted experimental mixes for influential podcasts like Smoke Machine, Mysteries of the Deep and IO, as well as DnB-focused mixes for Oslated, Dommune and Rosa. With each experience, Lynne continually pushes her complex and absorbing sound into new unexplored territories. 2022 saw her first release - "Metsu" - appear on the compilation “Anthology Of Experimental Music From Japan” released by Unexplained Sounds Group. Metsu portrays an expressive and ominous world - reflecting Lynne's voyage into unconventional realms. Now a resident of Astral Industries and Unknown Species, Lynne resides between Tokyo and London. She is an artist who is most comfortable in the grey space between genres, where her rhythm is a gravitational force pulling dancers in all the right directions.
