- Amsterdam-based DJ/producers Makèz (Willem Mulder and Kees van 't Klooster) blend Jazz, Soul, Classic House, and Hip Hop, creating a style that bridges past and future in House Music.Over the last few years, the duo made several eclectic releases for prominent House labels like Heist Recordings (NL), Let’s Play House (NYC) and Defected's Remedy Project (UK) which include multiple collaborations with the likes of Inner City, Folamour, Nebraska and Dreamcastmoe as well as remixes by all-time legends such as Dego, Mr G and Orlando Voorn. Their recent release, "Downstream", in collaboration with Life on Planets and released on ANOTR's No Art label, has emerged as a total summer's anthem and one of the most sought-after IDs this year, supported by BBC Radio 1 DJ’s such as Pete Tong, Danny Howard & Sarah Story, as well as artists such as Louie Vega, The Martinez Brothers & Jamie Jones. 2023 was also marked by the launch of Makèz’s own label, Sonic Soil, and the release of a first single, "Love You More", featuring Allysha Joy as well as Brassband Gallowstreet and a remix by Mr. G. Within the studio, this dynamic duo operates in perfect synergy.
