- Marcos Silvestre is a Spanish DJ and producer and a co-owner of SWATREC label. At the moment, he is the resident DJ at Now Morning Sessions in Madrid.Marcos Silvestre has always been passionate about music, since he was a child his fascination for electronic music made him collect flyers from many clubs and got close this clubs to listen to the music from the outside or to see DJ’s who were playing when they left clubs. When he was very young, at the tender age of 14, he decided to get started with his training, and quickly, when he was 15 he played his first DJ session in the club “Hexágono Light” in his hometown San Sebastián de los Reyes, where he continued playing until its closing. Later, he met Welcome DJ team, who let him play in the small DJ Booth they had in a record shop in San Sebastian de los Reyes. His next step was when this shop was moved to Madrid, and he was offered to join “Frequency Club”, a group of amateur DJs that allowed him to participate in some DJ contests achieving very good positions. He started getting gigs and residencies in many clubs of Madrid just as Paladium, Ministry, Vogue, Kapital or Fabrik, as well as, working with one of the biggest Spanish companies regarding night life: “Grupo Kapital”. From 2007 to 2009 he was one of the artists of “Musica Moderna”, one of Madrid’s most important booking agents and it was during this period when he started to take off, being hired by clubs all over Spain and improving his reputation and gaining notoriety. After that stage, he has been continuing his path independently. In 2011 he had managed to be one of the resident DJs in Zyde (Cocó Club, Madrid) where he had the opportunity to be lined up with artists such as Michel Cleis, John Digweed, Hernan Cattaneo, Michel De Hey or Steve Lawler, among others. Throughout this years, he had also performed in clubs and festivals such as Space of Sound Festival (Madrid Arena), Insomnia Emotional Club Festivals (Insummer and Insonar), Musicland Festival, Family Club or Replay Sunset Parties, being lined up with artists like Loco Dice, Tini, Guty, Matthias Tanzmann, Davide Squillace, Sven Väth, Ricardo Villalobos, Wally López or Loko among others. In 2012, Marcos won “Movida Corona Spain” DJ contest (sponsored by Coronita) and had the opportunity to participate in the international final that took place in Stockholm (Sweden). At this moment, he is one of the residents of “Now” one of the most well known morning sessions in Madrid, being one of the members of “Renova Music” group that runs sessions like “Mayday”, “Flexx” and “Now” in the Spanish capital. As a producer, he was trained by Ismael Rivas two years ago and since then, he had succeeded in publishing for recording labels as important as Zinc Records, Dot Com Recordings, Sinshy Records, 3desire’s Records or Makkosa Music, as well as, founding his own record label SWATREC (www.swatrec.com) with his partner and friend Danny B and the media company Expansive.
