- Medlam started djing several years ago after starting university. Formerly a drum and bass dj, he's seen his sound has develop and mature over the years. In his sets he now focuses on showcasing his own blend of bass-infused and dancefloor friendly hou..Medlam started djing several years ago after starting university. Formerly a drum and bass dj, he's seen his sound has develop and mature over the years. In his sets he now focuses on showcasing his own blend of bass-infused and dancefloor friendly house, garage and deep house, always putting variety and tune selection first. Since starting on the decks, Medlam has gone on to play at venues and nights such as Digital Newcastle, The Gramaphone, The CAMP Basement, 7-9 Crucific Lane, Trouble Vision @ Corsica Studios, CODE @ The Rhythm Factory, Gottwood presents @ Basing House, Dubscover @ The Rhythm Factory, Inigo Bar, The Purple Turtle & Raduno to name but a few, as well as recent gigs in Costa Rica, at Grenade in Ibiza and at the acclaimed Gottwood Festival in Wales! Aside from djing Medlam also co-runs Soltek, a quarterly club night which focuses on pushing a deeper, more rolling sound across the whole electronic spectrum. Having had their launch party in October '09, the guys have gone on to form a residency at The CAMP Basement and have had the likes of Commix, SpectraSoul, A1 Bassline, Lynx, Phaeleh, Nu:Tone, Arkist, Cluekid, Rack N Ruin, Joe Syntax, Hylu & Jago, Onlyjoe and many more perform at their nights. The next party is confirmed for June 30th, more info coming soon...! Not content with merely being a DJ, Medlam has recently entered the realms of production and is currently discovering how to curate his own sound and put his ideas into motion. Watch this space for upcoming material. Influences include the likes of Claude Von Stroke, A1 Bassline, Arkist, Mosca, SBTRKT, Phaeleh, Synkro, Dom Hz, Dexter Kane, Cozzy D, Jon Convex, Boddika, French Fries, Dark Sky, Subb-An, Eliphino, George Fitzgerald and many more....
