- Music speaks to the souls of the ones who are listening.Mesquitas At the age of fourteen music took over his live, becoming the single most important part of his daily activities. Hand in hand with his guitar Rafael set out to conquer the world. Writing guitar riffs and lyrics. His passion and understanding for music grew during the years. In 2006 now just nineteen years old, Rafael moved to the Netherlands where his life and music he was involved with were about to change forever. Mesquitas was introduced to Minimal Techno and all that was moving the industry and local scene. Next to spinning vinyl records at the time, Mesquitas stepped into the studio to experiment with production programs like Reason, Ableton Live and Logic Pro. In 2009 he had signed his first release. Since that day there have been over 20 releases to his name Mesquitas, but also many of his other side projects. Beside having made his way up the Beatport top 100 and top 10 on multiple occasions, Mesquitas has shared stages with the worlds most respected artist, and has been playing some of the worlds biggest events, slowly but surely Mesquitas is making a name for himself within the music community.̸“It was a magical moment, when I perceived turntables as a musical instrument for the rst time, what you could make the crowd do with just two records and a mixer. This certainly changed my life. I ended up selling my guitars I had worked so hard for to buy, just to able to buy records and turntables. This only convinced me of how bad I wanted this, I was certainly bitten by the ”DJ BUG” and there wasn’t anything anyone could do to stop me of pursuing my dreams. I had to become a DJ.”
