  • Mickey C followed the DJ route via his production life, which has been going on for around thirty years starting from listening to and being influenced by the likes of Cluster, Neu!, Amon Duul II, etc. back in the early 70's. His Krautrock influence re..
    In 1975, released an album of spacey krautrock on the Blubber Lips label out of Heidelberg, Germany. It was called 'Games' and was inspired by Klaus Schulze's "Timewind" and Richard Pinhas amongst others. Member of seminal London electropop outfit Naked Lunch in the early eighties which released a track on the ground-breaking Some Bizarre Album, along with, amongst others, Depeche Mode, Soft Cell, The The and Blancmange. At the same time played minimoog in Baby Patrol, a band which was the forerunner to Colourbox/MARRS, with Martyn Young and Ian Robbins. After a line-up change in Naked Lunch (ie. our vocalist) the band changed the name to "Boys Own" and gigged extensively, mainly in London and the SouthEast. However we did support Yazoo for two weeks on their major tour throughout England and Scotland in 1984. Skipping now to 1990; released tunes as SR2 on the then Newcastle label Hardware Records (also played at the first Rezerection around the same time). In 1991, after the regional radio station Wear FM (currently Sun FM) was established, co-presented a dance music radio show that ran for one and a half years on a Monday evening called Elevation. This broadcast cutting edge dance music to a region that stretched from Blyth in the north to Stockton/Middlesbrough in the south. Recorded for one time record label Shindig with Chris Scott (Lexicon Avenue, Echomen). In 1994 started a dodgy tape business with James Todd (Sister Cyrex and League Of Sinners) which was later to grow into Global Underground. Recorded as Sister Cyrex for HOS. Recorded for Full Circle in London as the League Of Sinners and with Shindig resident Scooby as Splendex. Recorded for Coded and Quad Communications as The Digital Monkeys, Axel and Soku. Also released tunes on Nice Vinyl as The Fabulous Byker Boys, Big Daddy Turbo and The Nice Phenomenon.
