Hailing from Montreal, Canada, Mike Laz has gained a strong local following through his technically precise sets that continually showcase his ability to adapt to any dance floor or crowd. His sonically balanced performances are not the only things that distinguish this young artist. Mike’s original productions constantly strive to create the perfect blend of innovative and percussive techno. Beginning in 2002, Laz experimented with guitar as a means of creative expression. As an avid music enthusiast, his most prized influences came from various rock bands, such as Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Metallica and Black Sabbath. In 2007, Laz was drawn to the Montreal scene by his passion for EDM music and the surrounding culture. Years of experience as a partygoer and member of the crowd aided his transition into DJing and music production, drawing roots from the Tech-house and Tribal genres. In January of 2011, Mike landed his first gig at Circus Afterhours (Rated #21 in DJMag Top100) under Dark Knights Productions and took the crowd on a personal and twisted journey into the dark recesses of techno. After his stellar performance, he began working as a Dark Knight, while rigorously producing tracks in his studio. Through his strong relationship with DK productions, Laz began performing at Circus on a monthly basis, playing alongside techno legends, such as Marc Marzenit, Joseph Capriati, D-Unity, AnGy KoRe, Phunk Investigation, Subfractal, GO!DIVA, Sasha Carassi and Virgil Enzinger. Exactly one year later, Laz released his first EP with Heaven to Hell Records, with remixes by Audio Injection and Michael Schwarz, including a track played on the CLR podcast by Drumcell and Chris Liebing at TimeWarp Mannhiem. Mike’s EP “The Resurrection” has gained early support from artists like Len Faki, Chris Liebing, Torsten Kanzler, A-Brothers, Brian Burger, Spark Taberner, Luke Creed, Electronites, Angel Alanis, Mattias Fridell, Ness, Oetam, Humo, Concrete DJz, Matt K and many more. His upcoming releases can be found on FractureAudio, Beat Therapy Records and Wevill. While this young artist is still up and coming his future looks promising in a world where techno never dies. ------------------ Upcoming Gigs-> March 23 with Virgil Enzinger at Circus Afterhours May 18 with Dandi & Ugo at Circus Afterhours Upcoming Releases on--> Beat Therapy Records Frakture Audio Wevill ------------------ For Contact Information or Booking: [email protected] [email protected]
