From his immersion into the electronic music world thirteen years ago, Tony Kasper, also known as Mindbender, has managed to keep his finger directly on the pulse of the techno community. As a child, growing up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Tony was imbedded with a passion for high caliber music, being exposed to classic blues, jazz, and rock and roll. From moment one, it is clear that a Mindbender dj set surmises the utmost in professionalism behind the decks. Tony's career found him playing many roles in Chicago's underground dance culture. Tony has been an integral part of several promotions companies, not to mention performing his unique techno groove at numerous events, from large raves, to clubs main rooms, and everything in between. Besides djing, producing, and promoting, Tony also helped run Chicago's WAXaddict Records, which finds him able to push the boundaries of underground dance culture, with a wide range of tracks. Tony's unique ability to find beauty and strength where others see only decay, resonates naturally into his music. Playing alongside artists such as Alexi Delano, The Advent, Bryan Zentz, Adam Marshall, Mike Dearborn, Cari Lekebusch, Traxx, Cajmere, Gene Hunt, Adam Beyer, Joel Mull, Lester Fitzpatrick, Mark Verbos, Terry Mullan, Frankie Bones, and Headroom has exposed Tony to the highest caliber of electronic wizardry. He finds himself djing and traveling throughout the United States, from Los Angeles to Miami's Winter Music Conference to turning the tables at the parties during Detroit's Electronic Music Festival to reach out to committed techno fans. Tony's mixing technique is unparalleled and uniquely adaptable. His technique includes utilizing three turntables and multiple audio sources to create his unique techno blend. Tony's style can be best described as dark and aggressive or funky, floor-burning techno. His style can best be paralleled to the driving, yet chunky sounds of the Swedish, German and Italian techno artists. Tony's primary goal behind the decks is to use his vast knowledge of tracks and quick mixing ability to control a crowd with every measure he plays.
