- MKEY, the musical alias of Scottish DJ Mikey Watson, has already started to gain recognition. With blistering technical ability and the innate knowledge of how to work a dance floor he has already begun to make his moves in the electronic music scene.MKEY’s sound sits firmly in the realms of underground house music, sometimes deeper and minimalistic right through to solid, grooving tech house. Each of his sets has nods toward his influences within the underground scene. Predominantly based in South West England he has steadily made his mark playing a host of guest slots in some of London’s most established clubs, including Ministry of Sound, Egg, Studio 338 and Fire. During which he has supported international acts including Camelphat, Groove Armada, De La Swing, Paco Osuna, Doorly, wAFF, PAX, GW Harrison, Jack Swift and Devstar. After featuring in articles from Ibiza Club News and Rate My Rave in 2018/2019 it wasn’t long before he made his Ibiza debut at superclub Eden as well as performing at Hi’ Ibiza for Bodyworks. This was alongside other international appearances in Cyprus and Malta as well as festival bookings across the UK for the likes of Elrow and We Are FSTVL. MKEY reached the number 1 spot in the Beatport Minimal Release Chart in 2019 with an EP’s under Serena Music and managed to climb to the number 2 spot with Celestial Recordings. He has rounded off his own unique sound throughout the year and with a stacked release schedule moving in to 2019 MKEY is setting his own pace within the underground industry. It is clear that with his work ethic, determination and skill there is no limit to what MKEY can achieve in 2020.
