- Vinyl junkie, DJ and remixer from Bergamo - ItalyMoplen has put out remixes out on crucial labels in the scene such as: GLITTERBOX SALSOUL WESTEND TK RECORDS HIGH FASHION MUSIC GROOVIN PEPPERMINT JAM DEFECTED SOULFURIC HENRY STREET MUSIC SO SURE SAMOSA GAMM BBE LUMBERJACKS IN HELL He remixed tracks by Candi Staton, Frankie Knuckles, First Choice, Salsoul Orchestra, The Shapeshifters, Hardsoul, Leroy Burgess to name a few. His multitrack remixes show his distinctive style in revising classic cuts for the modern dancefloor without changing their original vibe. As Kon said in his RBMA Headphone Highlights: "I really like his style ... i really like that, when you can identify someone's sound ... the same way one could hear a Pete Rock beat or a Premo beat or a Dilla beat ... each one of hisremixes has his style, so this guy...he does something really unique with the drums”. In the last few years his remixes have been increasingly supported by world class djs and key figures in the music scene. First of all, Dimitri from Paris have been playing Moplen remixes constantly since yhe very beginnings, when he included Luca's Sinnamon remix in his Essential Mix for BBC Radio 1. Radio personalities such as Gilles Peterson and Craig Charles played his tunes in their shows. Drum‘n'bass superstar DJ Marky in his “influences” set on Boiler Room Brasil played a Johnny Hammond remix by Moplen, stating “this remix by Luca is one of my all time favourites”. Big names constantly play Moplen's works in their sets: Little Louie Vega, Mousse T, Danny Krivit, Dimitri From Paris, Folamour, Dj Harvey, Kon, Natasha Diggs, Ashley Beedle, Melvo Baptiste, David Morales, Dj Spinna, Cosmo, Ben Liebrand, Kenny Carpenter, Rahaan, Jazzy Jeff, Dazzle Drums, Gilles Peterson, Craig Charles, Glenn Underground, Hector Romero, Eli Escobar, Jamie 326 and many others. Dj since 1998 he regularly spins all over Italy (Florence, Pisa, Rome, Taranto, Milan, Venice) and abroad, like at the iconic Le Bain in NYC; he’s also the only Italian Dj to have shared the booth at the famous Motown Party in Paris with resident Dj Reverend P. He’s a regular guest on Italy's Radio Capital FM “Capital Party” show. Since 2013, with partner Jopparelli, he has been running Tropicalismi, the infamous monthly underground party in his hometown.
