  • Mr. Jones, Dutch producer, releasing on DSNT, The Public Stand. Also half of production duo _Unsubscribe_ with Dave Clarke.
Born in Amsterdam, raised in Haarlem, gifted with Moluccan genes and a natural ability for creating the fiercest, most distorted and rhythmic techno tunes, Mr. Jones aka Jonas Uittenbosch is here to stay. “Music is emotion, the music I make is a reflection of myself. I made a lot of tracks in heavy periods in my life and that reflects back in the sounds I produce. I am who I am, and don’t do things like commercial image building for myself,” is Jones’ clear answer on how a musician should approach his or her passion for music. Jones’ career takes off in 2010 when he gets instantly noticed by the ‘Baron of Techno’ himself, Dave Clarke, when competing in the infamous Demolition Panel at the Amsterdam Dance Event. A great and familiar partnership is born which lasts till today. Clarke gives Jones his first airplay in his legendary White Noise radio show and even lets him provide a track every week for this purpose, making him the techno artist with the most airplay on Dutch National Radio at that time while still being unsigned. It even gets further than that when listeners of the show are discussing on Twitter who this Mr. Jones really is… is it an alias of ‘The Baron’, Dave Clarke himself? Clarke himself hasn’t made music for almost a decade at that point and the styles of both are in some ways similar. “This really got me when people started to think I was an alias of Dave. That was the real starting point of my career. My first album, ‘Sounds For The Mute’ from 2015, is the best example of that misunderstanding. ‘Sounds For The Mute’ is Mr. Jones, ‘Sounds For The Mute’ is Jonas Uittenbosch.” Jones’ rhythmic and rebellious character stems from his Moluccan family and roots. “My grandfather was a great guitar player, Moluccans have music in their genes. Unfortunately, a lot of Moluccan youngsters quit the game at an early age. I want to be an example for them to hold on to their dreams. You know, life is tough in the Moluccas and the situation there gets very little attention from the mainstream media. I hope to encourage young people to do what they really like, despite their tough situation. Everything’s possible.” But the story of Jones doesn’t stop here. The next step in his incomparable story is the creation and launch of his own label in 2018, Paradise Amsterdam Records, which will push Jones’ boundaries into a next level of uncompromised, distorted and heavy techno rhythms to give him the signature he deserves as an independent, unique and uncompromising artist. Like we already said, Mr. Jones is here to stay.
