- NHJ first began DJing graveyard shifts on local radio, performing bizarre audio operations.... Fast forward 20 years and his mix of grumpy disco, bleepno, freaked out bass jams and soundtracks to the female body is still as incoherent as ever.Born and raised in Melbourne, Australia, NHJ started DJing during the late 90s. He has been resident at Australia’s most vaunted clubs and parties playing anything electro, house, techno, EBM & wave through to dub, world music and cosmic sounds. From dingy back rooms to overpriced cocktail bars to festival stages, Jan has toured the US, Asia and Europe playing amongst others New York, Detroit, LA, Barcelona, Paris, The Hague, Singapore, Bangkok and Shanghai. His experience in the industry beyond DJing includes running the M Division label, producing records, organising club nights and events, participating at the Red Bull Music Academy and hosting radio shows on numerous independent stations. In 2014, NHJ returned to his ancestral home. Following appearances at editions of Unsound Festival and its club nights, sporadic select guest spots in obscure basements, the sabbatical is over.
