- OHISHI (DJ, Dancer)OHISHI started his dance career in 1995. Three years later in 1998, he joined the House dance team SODEEP, with which he still actively performs today. He has worked with such major artists as TRF and PUSHIM, appearing in music videos, heading choreography and starring in dance performance DVDs. Though based in Tokyo, you can find him burning the floor in regions all over Japan as the team’s music maniac — an obsession that even gets him heat from his crewmates. SODEEP has performed for countless overseas acts on their tours throughout Japan. OHISHI has gained a following from both dancers and music lovers alike, personally DJing for popular Japanese bands such as Jazztronik and cro-magnon and making cameo appearances in concerts and music videos. In 2015, the team’s anniversary party ‘SODEEP, smokin’ the floor for 20 years’ held at club VISION in Tokyo gathered over 1,000 people. At the event they released a commemorative book in collaboration with the NY born, worldwide-network boasting culture magazine FRANK. The following year, the team successfully ventured on a 15 city, year-long national tour, sharing a dense musical experience with established local artists and party heads at every stop. People talked about these parties and their top-notch quality throughout the year. OHISHI’s career as a DJ also spans over 20 years, producing exchanges with a wide array of local and foreign DJs. He has released six compilation albums so far in his SODEEP 1995-20XX series, offering listeners a brilliant mix of only tunes that the crew has personally used in past performances, and has reached number one in sales on Disk Union with his monthly mixed CDs that continue to roll off the shelves.
