  • Omar Karim [of Kreamdip] (Younan Music, Jetset Music Group, 202 Digital)
Omar Karim and Steve DiPietro merged to form the production & DJ duo Kreamdip during the summer of 2003. They’ve headlined at some of the most prestigious clubs in the U.S. and abroad. Since their alliance, they've hosted a weekly residency in their hometown of Washington D.C., starting first at the legendary locality that was once Dragonfly, transporting later to the exotic confines of Lima. Kreamdip has built the most dynamic & enduring electronic music night in DC. During their rise to prominence, they’ve swiftly compiled an inventory of notable milestones. Kreamdip has received invitations to perform at a versatile array of venues, ranging from shows hosted by the electronic industry’s premier artists, to fashion events looking for an infusion of underground music. In 2007, they played at the Winter Music Conference in Miami, at the Mynt closing celebration, alongside Second Sun, Granite & Phunk, Seamus Haji, and host Cedric Gervais. They returned to WMC in 2008, and further fueled their rise in the industry, performing in a lineup at Nocturnal which included TV Rock, D-Formation, Adam Beyer & Paco Osuna. Other highlights include an Iky label event featuring trance legend Ferry Corsten’s clothing line, trunk shows for Nicole Miller and Gucci, hosting a weekly segment on CorzRadio, and a live show with Janis Leahy, vocalist from Deep Dish’s ‘George Is On’ album. They’ve been interviewed or featured in several media outlets including Sony Music, Go Magazine, DC Examiner, District Creatives, The Washington Post and Passiontolive. Kreamdip’s active schedule in the studio continues to expand their discography of original records and remixes, both as solo artists and as a duo. Among their early collaborative attempts at the production realm, generated the tune 'Jumpy', which went on to be featured by Bart Cruz of Feed Me Records (Portugal), who played it on M.A.N.D.Y.'s radio show in Germany. Subsequent tunes included ‘Red Diner’ with Cold Harbour artist Jav D, and numerous bootleg remixes, including David Guetta’s ‘Just a Little More Love’ and Rachel Panay’s ‘I Still Believe’. In staying with the white label trend, they laced Eric Prydz’s ‘Genesis’ with vocals from Chanel’s ‘My Life’, drawing resounding nods from clubgoers. The mashup was showcased during radio sets on GlobalBeats.FM Germany and di.fm’s Progressive Channel. In 2008, they cranked out multiple original releases and remixes on Eighteenth Street Lounge resident Thomas Blondet’s 202 Digital Records, several of them with tribal house artist Tony Puccio of Juicy Records. More recently, Kreamdip remixed house legend Saeed Younan’s ‘Believe’ for Younan Music, in a package that included an interpretation from Australian star Mobin Master which reached the top 10 overall chart on Beatport.com. In addition to their joint recording efforts, they’ve also begun to explore the path of solo projects. Steve DiPietro teamed up with Puccio to construct ‘Traffic Jam’ for 202 Digital, a track that drew rave reviews from industry heavyweights Danny Tenaglia, Fedde Le Grand and Charles Feelgood. He’s also put forth ‘Take Control’ and ‘Circus Ride’ on Miami imprint Rapid Fire Records. In 2009, Omar Karim remixed ‘Break My Fall’ by Delphi & J-Punch featuring Yoshitoshi vocalist Avalon Frost. The tune was scooped up by Los Angeles’ Jetset Music Group, operated by Ultra artists Ron Reeser & Dan Saenz. He’s also remixed Parisian dj Floy’s ‘Winter Night’, set to be released during the upcoming months. Numerous productions are in the cue and set to emerge from this duo during the remainder of this year and beyond. They continue to move forward at a rigorous pace, pushing to solidify a position amongst the industry elite.
