Ozy (Örnólfur Thorlacius) is an electronic musician and dj from Reykjavik. In the early years of his career, Ozy released a series of influential records on the Icelandic dub techno label Thule Records, paying homage to the Berlin dub sounds and the abstract shuffle rhythms of Cologne techno. In 2002, the legendary Force Inc./Mille Plateaux label (home to such artists as Kid 606, Alva Noto, Tim Hecker and Vladislav Delay) released Ozy's debut album Tokei, bringing Ozy to the attention of a wide international audience. Recently, after some years of hiatus, new material came out on a Tokyo based label (nothings66) run by Ametsub. The release included new material by Ozy, as well as fine-tuned versions of older tracks; accompanied by remixes by Laurel Halo (Hyperdub records) and Miles Whittaker (Modern love records), a member of the Manchester duo Demdike Stare and a longtime collaborator of Andy stott (a.k.a. Millie and Andrea).
