  • Probably the X*wXw*X DJ in the world.
Phil Barbee has been mixing up records since 1994 and recently completed his mix #380. His artistic debut EP, is due for release in May 2015 on SUPERB recordings where he also did A&R for the first 5 numbers. Other highlights of his career include: Playing and hosting some of Germany's early Drum&Bass, House, Funk and Breakbeat parties in the early and mid 90's around his home town of Münster, Germany where he initially trained as a chemist and media designer. Touring Brazil for 9 months, while writing the cult novel "Das Dj Liebesbuch" and created the map collage "My City" - a homage to urban music. Notable gigs include playing the "Big Bang" in Brooklyn, where he performed at the turn of the Millenium. A 2014 tour of Japan, where he was featured alongside the likes of Moodyman, Ben Ufo, Axel Boman, a.o. and even playing on three turntables in the country's oldest club "Metro", in Kyoto. A residency at Nhow Music Hotel, Berlin, in 2013 saw him play a total of 84 Gigs using his moniker "Uschi Oberschlaumeier" for brands like Porsche Design. In 2014 he moved onto "Crack Bellmer" Bar, considered a near-perfect all night spot by many, which is still in his roster of residencies, to which the famous "Kaffee Burger" was added most recently. Current daily life consists of taking part-time care of his daughter, distributing the new DJ tool "RecordButler", developing his writing skills and working on his spiritual knowledge in order to achieve his latest aspiration: to become a Kundalini master. All this while still passionately digging for vinyl probably makes him the perfect Dj for your club!
