- Born and bred under the scorching sun of Southern France, Ludmila Cassar and André Dalcan produce and perform as REFLEX, making french music with shades of chill, balearic ( the sand, sea, sky and the sun of their habitat ) and even indie. Set over ca..Reflex is the unstoppable duo, based in the South of France near from the sea, who erupted on the scene with debut single ‘Wavering’. They’re discovered by Jerry Bouthier and signed on his own label Continental Records, then on Kitsuné, and added to the Hollister California Summer playlist top tracks. Yes, a song one can only cherish fondly, just like priceless memories. Indie-dance? Electronic ? Who cares? Call it "Sea", "Chill", or "Future" ! You can hear influences, conscious or not, Chilly Gonzales, Aeroplane, ... REFLEX’s music claims nothing more than spreading balearic love for the soul... and the bodies on the dancefloor. Ludmila & André aren’t about reviving the past. If anything the past decades inspire them to be challenging, show that electronic music can still be exciting by offering people songs and emotions that aren’t simply formulaic. Ultimately their desired Mediterranean lifestyle, the sun, the sea... have only but galvanized their inspiration. The pair can’t get away from the studio, writing and remixing non-stop (they’ve lately given their REFLEX touch to Dj Cam + Anggun, Daft Punk, Strange Talk, Juveniles, Black Strobe, Shindu... ). Always on the move, gigging in clubs and festivals alike, they’ve completed international tours - Asia : Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Jakarta, Vietnam, China... US which included SXSW Festival Austin, L.A, Vegas and more... and culminated in Hawaii. Dare we say housey? Oui, but à la Mancunian with a French twist please.
