Having broken through in the 90’s with a residency at the legendary Limelight rePete has been influential in the NYC scene, and is still picking up speed. Over the past year he has been continually booked at renown NY venues; notably Space, Pacha, Sanky’s and Brooklyn’s most highly regarded dance music club, Output. His celebrated productions have proven him a shrewd talent in the studio with tracks reaching #8 and #32 on Beatport’s top 100 for notable techno labels 069 Techno, Italo Business, Unknown Territory and De-Konstruct. Techno heavyweight Alan Fitzpatrick championed his most recent release on Unknown Territory, Amalthia which he featured in his set for BPM festival’s podcast. Through more than two decades of NYC nightlife’s many metamorphosis, rePete has remained a homegrown mainstay. His ability to deliciously reshape his sound with passion and authenticity has allowed him to transcend the trends of the city’s discriminating scene. And he has made his mark all along the way, from the club kid days to warehouse parties. This Summer rePete succeeded in winning a spot playing at the annual Electric Zoo festival on Randall’s Island alongside a mind blowing roster of talent. rePete came up quickly in the early 90’s as the resident DJ of famed Friday night weekly, Future Shock, held at the ever illustrious NYC club Limelight. The party’s title would prove apropo for both the party and it’s resident DJ. As rePete introduced party goers to the newest sounds in techno, so was he introduced to the world. At that time in the scene, the Limelight, hosted the city’s most revered and avantgard tastemakers creating a sought-after stage for DJ’s from around the world. Though a highly accomplished club DJ, he has stayed current through his esteemed work as a producer. rePete first began producing in the late 1990’s in a collaboration with Damon Wild called Equinox. The duo’s first release on Vortex Records was acclaimed throughout the industry and dance music scene worldwide. The EP they released served as catalyst for rePete’s first European tour. Opening for Moby at the MayDay festival in Germany remains one of his most impactful memories and eminent accomplishments. rePete’s consistent, prevailing techno releases on labels 069 Techno, De-Konstruct, Illegal Alien, Unknown Territory, and Italo Business have secured him not only a loyal ever-growing fan base, but several dominant spots in beatport’s top 100. From intimate after parties to main stage arenas rePete always brings positive vibes and groovin bass lines. He is set to release a slew of new tracks this year, and hopes to set out on tour in the near future to reconnect with his audience abroad. Everette Haley of Static Bookings is longtime friend and colleague that has always promoted rePete as a true artist. This working friendship facilitates rePete’s continued progression in the scene as he focuses on his truth, the music.
