  • 20 year old electronic DJ & producer from Canada
Dubbed “Montreal’s Boy Wonder” by DMC World Magazine, 20-year-old Canadian music producer Richie G has already set an imprint in the electronic music industry. Having released records for prominent record labels and gained support from the world’s top DJs, there will be no surprise to see Richie’s name on the next budding list of the future figures in dance music. At the tender age of 15, when Richie received an email from none other but John Digweed requesting him to remix a song for his prestigious label Bedrock, the teenager gained hope to pursue his dream and focus on what means most to him in life – the art of creating and playing music. Since then, the young protégé was constantly sending music to John, who later on signed ‘But Her Fly’ and ‘Eterna’, an EP that ended up destroying the dance floor in his sets at Space Ibiza the same year. Following his EP on Bedrock, Digweed had asked Richie to provide a guest mix for his world famous and highly influential Transitions Radio show, effectively making Richie the youngest DJ ever to appear on the show at the tender age of 17. Continuing on his momentum from the 2012, Richie G started 2013 off with remix releases for industry mainstays in the likes of Hernan Cattaneo and Guy Gerber by way of winning the aforementioned’s Beatport Remix Competition, as well as putting out a hard-hitting debut three-track EP on Techno queen Nicole Moudaber’s Mood Records. The first ones being the deepest ones, Richie always enjoys transforming his emotions into sounds and his rework for Guy Gerber’s single ‘Steady’ denotes just that. However as time passed by and exploring the more melodic and progressive realm of dance music, Richie found his way back to the style that originally made him fall in love with dance music; Techno. Going back to his roots led him to creating club banging reworks of Phil Kieran’s ‘Ghetto Face Space Place’ released on fellow Canadian Tiga’s Turbo Recordings, as well as his most recent remix for legendary duo Booka Shade’s single ‘Love Inc’ on Blaufield. These recent works have attracted the attention and the support of the most respected DJs such as Sasha, Danny Tenaglia, James Zabiela, Pete Tong, Carl Cox, Digweed and Nicole Moudaber to name a few. Although school is a major factor conflicting with Richie’s schedule, he still manages to spend hours and hours in his basement studio on a daily basis as said himself; ‘All I look forward to every single day is to get back home from school and be in my studio making Techno’. With this incredible level of passion, ambition and meticulous attention to detail, this young man enters 2014 working on projects that are set to make him the latest and most brightest shining new star on the star-studded Techno sky.
