Stepping up after several years quietly producing, mixing and releasing music under his own name, RS Tangent sees Robin shed some of the more abstract tendencies of his craft, making way for a sound made of playful experiments in driving rhythm and seething tension. Through the grammar of driving techno and dubby sonic interference, RS Tangent productions tread a tantalising line between binary machinist clank and bleeding edge experimentalism - taking in the endless churn of early Downwards recordings or the gooey tactility of Different Circles’s most beguiling offerings and rendering a fiercely original style of modern body music. Behind the decks, Robin turns this energy into a fierce deliverance of jacking grooves, pounding basslines and tantalising rhythmic interplay. Having comfortably taken the reins on huge stages at Dekmantel and Sonar as well as recently having laid waste to dancefloors at Tresor and FOLD, Robin’s sets oscillate between hair raising intensity and pure psychedelia.
