- Shootie was born in 1974 in Budapest. Since he was 13, he learn everything about music by himself. He leaarned to play piano, play drums and musical programization and mastering. His works includes: 2 platinas, 2 goldes, 8 albums and 35 maxi singles, and more then 50 remixes. Shootie was the member of the ’Draft’, from 1998 to 2001. In summer of 1998 they made a song called ’Dombok felett’, which has been put on the record list of Lee Burridge, with sign.that said: „Hungarian breakbeat, beautiful strings and amazing vocalist”. Even though Sasha, Nick Warren and Pappa played the breakbeat version. This song has also won the best video in 2001. In he year of 2000 with Dj Kuhl, Shootie has done an other Draft song called, ’Uj nap’, which was a mix by Fred Numf Universal Language. Since then he has a new project (Highrollerz) with Dj Kuhl and they did a debut single on Mechanizm Label,called „Macaroon Ep” In he last ten years he has been the excutive producere of 8 mixalbums. In 2001 he worked on the soundtrack of the movie, called „History of Black Rose Castle”. Also in 1999 there was the song out, Benefit and da Dutchman: Six Gee, which was remixed by Roland Klinkenberg. He became a dj in 1998, at Kecel, where he was inspirated by Sasha, Digweed, Nick Warren, Pappa etc.. There, Shootie played every weekend for two years. He travelled all around the country and been to Arad, Bucharest, Kolozsvar, Temesvar and he also played on the beach in Romania. After that, in 2001, he was the resident of the Home Club and the Home Cafe for one year. Since 2002 Shootie became the resident of Pacha Budapest, where he had the opportunity to play with djs like: Paul Oakenfold, Steve Lawler, Sander Keinenberg, Satoshi Tomiie, Jody Wisternoff, Lee Burridge, Dave Seaman. Shootie’s favourite producers are: Charlie May, BT and the Hybrid. In his style we are able to find emotional vocals, electro, minimal ,house, and breakbeat. And the story of the Monkz starts… When the three monk became one as Monkz, Flower a beautiful female singer joined to them in may of 2002, and helps created the song with her superb voice, called By Your Side. This song was the first track released from them, on the famous Pacha Winter Session double mix CD, released in december of 2002. They also has a DJ residents position at the club Pacha Budapest. They music played by all the top jocks such as John Digweed, Sasha, Pete Tong, Danny Tenaglia, Hernan Cattaneo, Deep Dish, Dave Seaman, Stewe Lawler, Nick Warren , Darren Emerson, Satoshi Tomiie, Lee Burridge, Wally Lopez. From the november of 2002, they became the member of the Pacha Futura dj association, and starts to play overseas like Miami @Opium on the 30th birhtday of Pacha Ibiza, played alongside Satoshi, Pete Tong, Wally Lopez. In the hot summerof 2003 they played two hot gigs at the famoso Club Pacha Ibiza, one in july and in august. Played with Bob Sinclair, Claudio Coccoluto. In the summer of 2004,they played a big gig with Pete Tong and Sander Klinenberg at the Pacha Ibiza. On the spring of 2003 the well known english prog label, Plastic Fantastic signed them for three 12" single. First release Canga Urania in november really hit the bong and the DJ charts as well. Position on the Balance Chart in the US for four weeks, highest was the second position. Support from DJs such as Satoshi, John Digweed, Chris Fortier, Danny Tenaglia (DT said : you've got the funk! ). November of 2003, the old classic song of the band, Nu Bluez finally landed on Sander Kleinenbergs Renaissance CD, called Everybody. Also this track with different mixes gonna come out on Alternative Route Recordings in march of 2004. Also the Renaissance production signed one of their track called Slow Talking for Dave Seaman&Phil K. Renaissance CD, released on the march of 2004. Second single, Bass 'n' Shit and Soapless Soap on Plastic Fantastic debut in January of 2004. Ministry of Sound website says: Record of the week. The third single, Zakka&Nekke released on Plastic Fantastic in summer of 2004. Position on the Balance Chart in the US for six weeks, highest was the 2nd position. In 2004 Gulu left the Monkz trio.They had released the first mini album with 4 tracks on Lowriders Recordings in 2005, called "Goggles Ep". Included Goggles, I want to see the Sun, Nasty, This is our Land. The "Goggles" was included on DJ19's "Addictive Asia Gate2" mixed CD. He has the Radio Show called „Sunday Session” since 2005. He’s one of the dj every sunday at www.justmusic.fm. Meanwhile in 2003 Shootie’s met with Andrew Genser and they established the Add2Basket duo and Add2Basket records as well. They had 12 released records together. In 2007 they had break away. And after in summer, Shootie’s come down with thyroid gland, and he was in hospital… It was 6months off… From this year Shootie carry on alone. He would do everything on his own (the song writing and Djing and the Live Acts). His live acts are unique. Only his own tracks bring out from the Ableton Live, and he always use the Ozonic keyboards for djing, and when he wants to add some new parts to the music. In 2008 he established the RadioCity Records digital label on the Beatport, he’s doing with his friend, Dj Moonline. The first release is the new Monkz song,called „I feel U”.
