- the Montréal-native has made his sonic identity quite clear: the mutative approach of Slow Tech and Dancehall, SIM projects the idea of a constant exchange between sound, matter and space.SIM pushes the boundaries in Sound System Music. His work has been noted around the world, from the US to Jamaica, to the UK, highlighting key elements of the Hardcore Continuum. Taking up the Dub and Dancehall sound theories of Lee 'Scratch' Perry, King Tubby and Dave Kelly or Techno pioneers such as Plastikman or Jeff Mills, SIM explores the relationship between space, body and sound. In 2018, with the release of 'Pu$$ycat' featuring the Catalan duo Crimen Pasional, SIM made himself heard on a global scale. Since then, the Montreal-based producer has focused on collaboration to expand his body of work, working with artists such as Brodinski, Sinjin Hawke, Madam X, Doctor Jeep, DJ Plead, Toumba, and Poirier, amongst others. In 2023, he announced the project 'Alta Familia' with the Mexican-Canadian Ultima Esuna and the Colombian NAP, based in Mexico. His recent releases include the 'Sumergir' EP with Sueuga on Sacrilejio Records, 'Sulum EP' on the Berlin-based label SPE:C, 'SINNAZ EP' with NAP on ISLA Records, and 'Terminate EP' on the iconic London label Nervous Horizon.
