- SMIFF is a young Edinburgh based DJ and Producer. Having been brought up listening to an eclectic range of electronic music, He has gathered these influences to form a unique fusion of breakbeat, techno and bass music inspired sounds.SMIFF is a DJ, Producer & Promoter hailing from Edinburgh in Scotland. He brings a unique & refreshing take on club music, forming a fusion between Techno & UK Bass music to create a high energy, raw and percussive sound. This resulted in his most recent mix with Action Replay Codes be featured as Resident Advisor’s ‘Mix of the Day’. His productions also reflect this unique fusion. His debut EP ‘Verbal Groove’ released with Berlin imprint ‘Sowasvon’ gained early support from the likes of Jensen Interceptor, Assembler Code, Chloé Robinson, DJ ADHD & Laurent Garnier. SMIFF has also seen multiple Debuts this year in places such as London, Berlin & Newcastle. It also saw him start a Residency in the world famous intimate Edinburgh venue ‘Sneaky Petes.’ As a resident, he began curating weekly sunday parties as well as inviting guests up to Edinburgh Such as Nikki Nair & DJ ADHD for his Scottish Debut. He even found himself rubbing shoulders with DJing Royalty in November, having an impromptu b2b with Skrillex in the Bongo club. As one of the most exciting emerging DJs in the UK, (according to timeout Magazine) SMIFF has an exciting few months coming up with music releases scheduled with scottish imprint Headset, Meld recordings, Hang Tough & Warner Record’s New Sublabel ‘Major Recordings.’
