  • It's unusual for an artist's first releases to be acknowledged by Dubfire, Richie Hawtin, Adam Beyer, and Marco Carola. Then again, Stiv Hey isn't your usual artist.
Born in Milan, Stiv Hey's passion for electronic music sparked while immersed in the Italian techno scene of his hometown. Having decided that this was where his future lay, Hey spent the next two years honing his production skills—studying sound design, audio engineering, and music theory—until he was prepared to release his first EP in 2012. That first EP, Walking, immediately received support from techno titans Dubfire and Marco Carola, while Hey's tracks "Squermus," "Shifted," and "Mindshake," would garner play from Sven Vath, Richie Hawtin, and Adam Beyer, respectively. The time Hey spent mastering production had clearly paid-off, however he wasn't finished gaining an edge on the music industry yet. In 2013, Hey devoted himself to traveling through Europe, where he attended a number of parties and festivals within the electronic community. Using this experience to analyze the scene, Hey gained a better understanding of dance music, as well as the relationship between DJ and audience. In 2014, Hey took this knowledge and returned to the studio. That year, Hey signed two EPs with Dubfire's SCI+TEC imprint, and another on major German label, Trapez. Producing new material on a near-weekly basis, Hey decided to take his creativity to the island of Ibiza, where he spent the summer rapidly expanding his network and fan base. By 2015, Hey made his debut in the United States with an appearance at the Miami Music Conference. Still maintaining a strong presence in Europe, Hey went on to play a number of important venues in major cities, including a sold-out show at Plazma Club in Bulgaria, where Hey's performance earned him "Special Guest" status at the nightclub. Compounding his achievements, Hey closed-out a 7-hour show on Mauritius Island (where he received a 15-minute applause from the audience), executed his first China tour with astounding success, and completed his third India tour—altogether soaring his Asian profile. In 2017, Hey's mix for It's All About the Music (a live-stream curated by Music On and Ibiza Global Radio) featured Hey's punchy, melodic class of tech-groove sexy music and was extremely well-received. Relocating to Barcelona, Hey is currently developing a party brand series titled, "Memories," which European fans can be on the lookout for in Winter 2017. It's unusual for an artist's first releases to be acknowledged by Dubfire, Richie Hawtin, Adam Beyer, and Marco Carola. Then again, Stiv Hey isn't your usual artist. Hailing from Milan, Hey is quickly becoming an authority in techno, spearheading the next generation of music leaders. Approaching the genre with a contemporary edge, Hey creates punchy, melodic techno backed by sexy instrumentals. In doing so, Hey has designed his own sound, which fans lightly refer to as Techno Champagne. A SCI+TEC artist, Hey has already begun to see sold-out performances on an international scale. At the end of 2016, Hey completely jammed Plazma Club in Bulgaria, and closed out a 7-hour show on Mauritius Island with a 15-minute applause from the crowd. Turning to Asia, Hey's China tour saw incredible success at all stops, and a third tour in India further revealed the establishment of a fan base in the eastern hemisphere. Relocating to Barcelona, Hey is currently developing a party brand series titled, "Memories," which European fans can be on the lookout for in Winter 2017.
