After a slant of acclaimed EP and a full lenght album for Initial Cuts, electro/techno combo Tekel went on the DIY road and decided to launch their own label, Tekel Music, as a vehicle to release their future records.
[T]ékël are Julien Briffaz & Loïc Le Guillou.
Julien founded Brif records before meeting Loïc Le Guillou, and deciding to give up label management to start producing music under the name of [T]ékël.
[T]ékël develop a style that merges different influences into one : rock, hip hop, house, electro & techno… 5 eps later, [T]ékël enjoy European wide recognition and their productions have foud a place in the record boxes of such djs as Michael Mayer, Richie Hawtin, Ricardo Villalobos, Agoria, Tiga, Ivan Smagghe…
The pair have consequently started to perform live sets, in the clubs where their energetic and powerful sound never fails to set the dancefloor on fire : Rex Club and Elysee Montmartre in Paris, WMF and Weekend in Berlin, Click in Hamburg, Mondo in Madrid, Fabric in London…
[T]ékël have also been asked to deliver remixes for such respected labels as Damian Lazarus’ Crosstown Rebels (UK), Ivan Smagghe’s Set (France), Sender and Boxer (Germany).
[T]ékël released their debut album in may 2006 on Initial Cuts (distribution Discograph).
