According to Hamburg Elektronisch, volker.live are “the hottest sh*t
right now”.
Seeing themselves primarily as a disco boy band, the three members
Julian Marks, Robin Townshend and Michael Terbuyken add that raw
energy to their live sets that House enthusiasts have been missing for
far too long. With an all-hardware /no-computer setup, their sound
would best be described as honest and rough 90s House, infused with
elements of Funk, Disco and Soul. Deliberately moving away from
clean computerized music, the three musicians are not afraid to pull
out their instruments and play live in front of a club audience. It
is this instant connection and uniqueness that regularly fills
dancefloors between Hamburg, Munich and Berlin.
After merely one year of performing, they have gathered
unprecedented backing in Hamburg and beyond: their debut EP will
feature remixes of Erobique and the Lehult Crew’s Lucky Charmz, with
strong support by Session Victim, former Ostgut Ton’s Label Manager
and Berghain resident Nick Höppner, liebe*detail records, Oliver
Kapp of Cocoon Records, Skee Mask of Ilian Tape, Hamburg
Elektronisch/ Hafendisko, Radio 80000 or Golden Pudel Club’s Paul
Speckmann just to name a few.
Previous/ upcoming gigs include Garbicz Festival 2018, Golden Pudel
Club, Betalounge Hamburg, Radio 80000, MOJO Club Hamburg, Carhartt
Sessions, Eastside Radio Lisbon, Thier Hamburg and many more.
In addition to their live performance, volker.live also perform as
DJ Trio.
