- Walter Stallworth has been in the Chicago house music scene now for over 25 years now off and on. Having learned about house music in high school, he was influenced by the Hot Mix 5, Frankie Knuckles and Ron Hardy just to name a few. He wasn’t doing..Walter Stallworth has been in the Chicago house music scene now for over 25 years now off and on. Having learned about house music in high school, he was influenced by the Hot Mix 5, Frankie Knuckles and Ron Hardy just to name a few. He wasn’t doing any DJ work other than making tapes for friends but it was a creative outlet for him. After a break from the house scene to pursue his career, Walter was re-introduced to house music in 1997 by his best friend. Once back in the scene he was influenced by Oscar McMillan, Mel Hammond, Jevon Jackson and Derrick Carter. He also made a name for himself spinning at loft parties and various Chicago venues. His DJ style goes from smooth jazzy house to harder minimal tech.
