- Your Only Friend is a DJ and Production Duo formed by longtime friends and collaborators Tres Manos and Steve Ferrand. Based in the thriving party Mecca of Barcelona, they are at the forefront of a new wave of artists blurring lines between genres.Connecting the dots between the US’s and the UK’s early house and techno scenes and the more contemporary sounds of today’s dance floors, Your Only Friend is a DJ and Production Duo formed by longtime friends and collaborators Tres Manos and Steve Ferrand. Based in the thriving party Mecca of Barcelona, they are at the forefront of a new wave of artists blurring lines between genres and bringing diverse crowds together. Both DJ’s have long histories as individual artists; Steve was a fixture on the UK’s free party and festival scene and Tres was a pioneer in the US’s club and warehouse scene. They would both eventually relocate to sunny Barcelona, where they met and began collaborating in 2005. Bonding over a mutual love of the underground music scene, they became among the most respected DJs and producers in the city. As individual artists, both went on to put out releases on prominent labels Urban Torque, Dessous, Pack Up And Dance, Detour, Om Records, Justified Cause, and many more. As they became more and more well known in their scene, they teamed up to form the group Your Only Friend and the label of the same name to share their love of underground house and techno and help expose their favourite up and coming artists to a wider audience. The label featured releases and remixes from artists Joshua IZ, James Flavour, Rick Wade, Lady Blacktronika, Last Mood, and many more. Support from DJs and producers like Laurent Garnier, Tony Humphries, Funk D’Void, Andy Cato (Groove Armada) and Luke Soloman helped them establish an international presence. In the ten years since their founding, Your Only Friend has gone on to became an institution. Both members have had successful solo projects, with Steve’s project ‘The Groovers’ scoring a hit on Brooklyn’s notorious Razor’N’Tape label with “Where You Belong,” as well as appearances on labels like Silver Network, Deep&Disco and Editorial, and Tres maintaining residencies at Zoo Project in Ibiza and Davide Squillace’s This And That Parties as well as collaborations with some of the musicians who inspired him in the first place, including remixes for Chicago legends Derrick Carter and Johnny Fiasco.
