  • With influences spanning early synthpop, EBM, pioneering industrial, and the icy techno of artists like Rrose and Surgeon, Your Silent Face creates efficient techno and dystopic electronica, with an aesthetic that is both mechanical and melodic.
After a period spent exploring his long-held passions: photography, astronomy, physics, architecture, and science fiction, Your Silent Face began producing techno quite recently, but his sonic influences span decades of electronic music. From Motorik pioneers Kraftwerk to early Synth-pop innovators like John Foxx, The Human League (Mark one, of course) and Depeche Mode, Your Silent Face has absorbed the fine balance between precision and brutality, repetition and melody that captures both heart and mind. He embraces the cold-war groove of early industrialists like Nitzer Ebb and Cabaret Voltaire, and equally the space-filled depth of techno from the likes of Chain Reaction, Silent Servant, Rrose and Surgeon. Fuelled by these influences, YSF creates techno with a brooding depth and melancholic questioning, anchored by infectious basslines and unequivocal, defined percussion which drive his tracks and give them a motorik flavour.
