  • San Francisco based DJ, producer, and founder / owner of Zettabyte Records.
    She started in classical music at age 7 playing violin and pursued DJing when Zita's friends invited her to attend the Winter Music Conference in Miami. This is where she met UK based DJ D:Folt, who encouraged her to follow a passion that she clearly held close to her heart, and to dive into the electronic music scene. Zita learned her basics on vinyl at Music Industry Workshop from Brian Boncher then continued spinning on CDJs. A try turned into a passion and the rest is history. Her musical influences include: old school progressive tech, Depeche Mode, then Maceo Plex, Steffi, Nick Warren, Simon Shackleton, Ben Klock, Adam Beyer, Nicole Moudaber and the sounds of Burning Man festival. The result is a deep tech, minimalistic sound produced by the current and forward thinking musician and the Zettabyte Records label owner that you hear today, Zita Molnar. Zita's numerous past performances have been club gigs in Chicago, Seattle, Houston, Las Vegas, San Francisco, and music festivals, renegades, and raves throughout Illinois, Wisconsin, Iowa, and California. One can also listen to her mixes on 92.5 and 99.9FM in Chicago, on Dance Factory Radio and download her free podcast from the iTunes store called "Sound and Machine". Zita was born and raised in Hungary. Moved to the USA when she was 14. In Hungary she attended a music specialty school where her classical training was focused on violin. Local string quartets, symphonies, theater, Chamber Music International Music Festival in Prague, Northbrook Symphony Orchestra were just some of the activities she used to do.
